How are access, quality and safety addressed by the program

Problem: How are access, quality and safety addressed by the program and how does this align with PPACA? Please include 5 references within past 5 years The program aims to address children ages 6-12 within the urban community of Albuquerque, which has a population of 561,006. New Mexico Department of Health (NMDOH), (2023), stated that in 2022 31% of kindergarten children and 42.7% of third-grade students were overweight or obese, with third graders showing a higher prevalence. This study concluded that early intervention in preventing excessive weight gain among kindergarten-aged children could impact children throughout their childhood (NMDH, 2023). This population has an increased risk of developing obesity due to their heightened exposure to processed foods and sedentary activities. It is essential to provide early interventions to increase their knowledge and ability to develop and maintain healthy lifestyles (Alotaibi et al., 2020). The target population will be further segmented based on socioeconomic status and access to resources to ensure the program reaches those who may face barriers to healthy living. Additionally, by promoting healthy eating habits and increased physical activity at a young age, the program can instill lifelong behaviors that contribute to overall well-being.
