1- Please answer the following questions:
How an employee can focus on both the functional or technical activities and the responsiveness to the external marketplace? For example marketing manager, accountant, operations manager. Explain.
Several Canadian manufacturing firms has seen a decline in their production due to the aggressive concurrence from Asian products. Then they decided to change of strategy, for becoming a distributor of their production made in China. Explain the changes in the structure and behaviors of the organization which delocalized their operations. Give examples for top managers and employees.
2- Which are the pro and cons of paying by performance to the CEO of the firms?. Explain with example
In Japan the incentive per performance is for the whole organization, in the United States, the incentives are individual. Discuss the advantages or disadvantages or both cases.
3- I've posted a link to a really interesting article in the Nov 2011 issue of Fast Company. The article discusses the disruptive forces that Google, Facebook, Apple and Amazon are having on the mobile, communications, advertising/marketing, retail, payments, entertainment, music, gaming, publishing/media and cloud computing industries. I'd like you to read the article and comment in the discussion question thread on the article. How might these changes effect the industry you work in, or the industry you wish to work in? Are there any companies that you think are particularly vulnerable to these forces? You might want to think through the 4P's of marketing when considering your response - how will pricing, distribution, product or service design and promotion within that industry be effected? And finally, who do YOU THINK WILL WIN???
