Assignment Task: Need help with a discussion reply to the following.
The Heritage Foundation has a strategy to transform America's culture. Dr. J. Bennett has great ideas I do believe. He believes our federal government should return to the local government. Which is a great idea, the states in the United States are all different some way or another. Bring the government back to the people. "If these things continue, the republic as we know it will cease to be. The trends are dangerous and they are potentially catastrophic. That is the hard truth of our time -- and I believe it needs to be said."(Bennett, n.d.). And there are others in this article who believe the same thing. Our federal government does control most things, I have worked in the public school system as a teacher and I noticed how affected the school I was at by the federal government. "The left doesn't see that anymore; many Democrats don't believe that anymore. Conservatives say that; let people choose their schools and their health care, for example. This is a self-governing society, and that is the point. And, yes, there is some risk to a self-governing society. But there is also tremendous opportunity." (Bennett, n.d.). I do strongly agree with this article, I think it would be great if we went back to local government. There are so many things we cannot do because of the federal government being in the way of doing such things. Crime rates are up, the education system is going down. There are many other things that have gone south due to our government. The Heritage Foundation is trying to change America's culture; spiritually, morally, and politically. They are trying to get us to think about our decisions.
