Question: Leaders and their personal characteristics are detrimental to any program, team, or project. Greenleaf (1977/2002) states "If a better society is to be built, one that is more just and more loving, one that provides greater creative opportunity for its people, then the most open course is to raise both the capacity to serve and the very performance as a servant of existing major institutions by new regenerative forces operating within them" (Greenleaf, 1977/2002). What are your thoughts on this statement? Have you worked with servant leaders? Can you please share your experiences demonstrating the distinct difference between leaders and servant leaders?
