In our society, we have always been told that compromise is a good thing. Whetten and Cameron challenges this belief by saying collaboration is the best answer. They do not ask you to believe that because they say so. Instead they suggest that compromise solutions to major problems carry the weakness of being unsustainable... the solution will not stand the test of time....after a period of time the problem reappears. Have you experienced this type of thing with compromise? What are your thoughts about compromise and collaborative solution? Have you even heard about or experienced a collaborative solution? When is it appropriate to use compromise as a strategy?
