Linear Programming
Par, Inc. Problem
Par, Inc., manufactures golf bags, and they make two models: The Standard (S) bag which generates $10 profit per bag, and the Deluxe (D), which generates $9 profit per bag.
The Director of Manufacturing stated that Par has at most 630 hours of cutting and dyeing time available; 600 hours of sewing time; 708 hours of finishing time; and 135 hours of inspection and packaging time.
The following chart gives the Production Time in hours needed for each type of bag for each separate department:
Department Standard Bag Deluxe Bag
Cutting & dyeing 0.7 1
Sewing 0.5 0.8
Finishing 1 .66
Inspection & Packaging .1 .25
