Assignment task:
1. Main Question:
Give example of deindividuation in your own life or in someone that you know.
2. Opinion/Views:
What can you say about his/her example of deindividuation based in their experience?
"I have personally gone through deindividuation. I was once in a really bad relationship with a guy who was manipulative and mentally abusive. Over the span of three years, I had changed the way I went about my daily life, how I dressed, how I talked and didn't even notice until it was too late. I had fallen into the idea of who he wanted me to be and not who I am. After seven months of no longer being together I am still trying to find myself again."
Considering their experience, what can you say about their deindividuation example?
"One way I faced deindividuation was when I was in high school. I wanted to fit in so much that I was willing to do just about anything to get accepted by my peers that I started to do things that I normally wouldn't do like smoking cigarettes, weed, and underaged drinking. Next thing I knew, my grades were slipping because I was out, "hanging out with friends" instead of worrying about my grades which was out of the norm for me. "
