Fundamental soa-layer of intermediary services

Task1. We identified three expansion phases that signify the dissimilar levels of maturity of an SOA in the enterprise: the fundamental SOA, the networked SOA and the process-enabled SOA.

Question1. How does each of the three expansion stages differ from each other?

Question2. Is it mandatory for an organisation to be at the top maturity level? On what factors are you going to base your assessment to define the right level of maturity for an organisation?

Question3. Briefly describe the fundamental SOA.

Question4. Imagine an airline web site that utilises four services - Flight Service, Customer Service, Booking Service and Payment Service - that encapsulates the major business entities and their behaviours that are relevant to the business processes that are exposed to their customers. Using the layering approach to SOA and with the help of a diagram describe how the above could be arranged in order to meet the requirements of the fundamental SOA. Clearly state any assumptions you made.

Question5. The networked SOA includes a layer of intermediary services. Using examples where necessary, give a complete description of any two types of intermediary services.
