functional units of a computer systemdigital

Functional units of a computer system:

Digital computer systems consist of 3 distinct units. These units are as follows:  Central Processing unit Input unit and Output unit.  These units are interconnected from each other by electrical cables to allow communication between them. It allows the computer to function as a system. Input Unit a computer ought to be receiving data and program both statements to function correctly and be able to solve problems. The way of feeding data and programs to a computer is accomplished by an input device. Computer input devices read data from a source, like as magnetic disks, and translate data into electronic impulses for transfer into the CPU. Some typical input devices are as, a mouse, keyboard or a scanner. Central Processing Unit Brain of a computer system is the central processing unit (CPU).  The CPU processes data transferred to it from one of the several input devices. It then transfers an intermediate or a final result of the CPU to one or more o/p devices. Central control section and work areas are needed to perform manipulate or calculations data.  The CPU is the computing center of the system. It has of a control section, an arithmetic-logic section, and an internal storage section (main memory). Each section within the CPU serves a particular function and has a specific relationship with the other sections within the CPU.
