From the very beginning of Iberian rule in Latin America, new cultures were created that combined European, African, and Indigenous roots. What was the role of intermediaries/go-betweens in creating this new culture that developed in Latin America? In answering this question, focus on how intermediaries/go-betweens forged new: (1) religious beliefs; (2) racial identities; and (3) labor systems in colonial Latin America.
