From the talk between Meno and Socrates by Plato. First, try to reconstruct the theory, to the extent it is there, and show whether or not it is coherent. Pick key moments in designing your reconstruction; for example, start with Socrates’ reorientation of the inquiry, move through the myth of recollection, and end with the metaphor of the statues of Daedalus. Second, say how this theory of knowledge connects to the question “what is virtue?” In other words, to the extent that Socrates either says or demonstrates something about virtue, how do ignorance, opinion, and knowledge contribute to our understanding of it?
