In my essay, I stand to challenge the claim, "Freedom of speech is one thing, but when it is damaging to society something can and should be done."Freedom of speech is very important to everyone in the society.
It is because it gives every person a chance to express what he or she feel and believe that is r ight. Therefore, I tend to believe that there is no one time when the freedom of speech should be termed to be damaging to the society.
For example, everyone speaks according to what they believe and what they think was done wrong. As a result, the freedom of speech is not something that can cause damage to the society since it is always aiming at making things better (Melkonian, 2012). If something should be done regarding the freedom of speech, then it means that people get deprived of the freedom that they have thus making it difficult for them to express what they believe.
I tend to believe that something should be done only in a situation where one uses the freedom of speech that they have for the wrong reasons. For example, some people use their freedom of speech to incite other people to do things that are wrong.
In such a situation, something should be done to ensure that the person is stooped and the people are also made to understand that what they were being asked to do is not right.
However, every person should be given the chance to express him or herself using their freedom of speech in order to understand what other people feel regarding certain things. They also stand to be corrected in a situation where the freedom is not used in the right way.
