Formulate timeline for when specific tasks need be completed

Problem:

From the general logistics plan you produced for the post-hurricane operations; you now need to produce an Action Plan.  An Action Plan is a document that lists what steps must be taken to achieve a specific goal. The purpose of an action plan is to clarify what resources are required to reach the goal, formulate a timeline for when specific tasks need to be completed, and determine what resources are required at each stage.

Your action plan needs to show what is to be distributed, how it will be transported, where the stock is to come from and when it will be transported. Include the agencies/organizations involved, the government departments, the roles of the people/departments from SCILaid, and over what time frame.

For the food quantities, hygiene kits, and other non-food items, we will need the details of how they are procured, stored, and delivered; who is responsible for these duties; the time frame and the communications and information flow. We would also expect to see a daily distribution plan covering the first 12 weeks of the project.

Assume that you can continue to use the helicopters until road access to Rajpur is restored.

Your Action Plan will need to be supported by a Gantt chart, or similar timeline, covering the delegation of responsibilities and the sequencing of actions. This can be used for the management of the first stages of the project.

To be sure the Action Plan and/or Gantt Chart includes a way for your team to document problems along the way.

Finally, describe how to conduct a formal lesson learned exercise at the end, thus helping SCILaid be better prepared for future response efforts.

Thank you,

Francois
