Forestry: It concerned with protection or development of forest and to explore the outcome or economic potential of forest. Forestry is the art or science of tree resources, including natural stands or plantations. The main aim of forestry is to create or implement systems that allow forests to continue a sustainable provision of environmental supplies or services. The challenge of forestry is to create systems that are socially accepted while sustaining the resource or any other resources which may be affected.
Silviculture science is related to forestry because it involves the growing & tending of trees or forests. Modern forestry usually embraces a broad range of concerns which include assisting forests to provide timber as raw material for wood products, natural water quality management, wildlife habitat, recreation, employment, landscape or community protection, aesthetically appealing landscapes, management, biodiversity, erosion control, watershed management or preserving forests as 'sinks' for atmospheric carbon dioxide. The person who practices of forestry is called as a forester. The word "forestry" may also refer to a forest itself.
