Force and acceleration

Question 1: A pair of figure skaters on frictionless ice pushes off each other. Skater 1 has a mass of 79 kg and accelerates at 2.5m/s2. Skater 2 accelerates at 3.6m/s2, what is her mass?

Question 2: A semi truck is towing 2 trailers. Trailer A has a mass of 8000 kg and Trailer B has a mass of 6000 kg. The acceleration of the truck and trailers is +3.9m/s2. The force of friction acting on Trailer A is 32000 N. If the trailers are pulled with a force of 1.1 x 105 N, find out the force exerted by Trailer A on Trailer B?

Question 3: A 40 kg box is being lowered down a 30 degree incline by a rope. The acceleration of the box is 1.3m/s2 down the ramp. If the force of friction is 25.0 N, determine the tension in the rope?

Question 4: Mr. Coderre is trying valiantly to push a heavy box all across a level floor by using a force of 3500 N; however he is unable to move it. The coefficient of friction between the box and the floor is 0.937; find out the mass of the box?

Question 5: A 200 N box is being pulled up a 30o incline with an acceleration of 1.5m/s2. If the force of friction is 15N. Determine the applied force?
