For this problem, assume that all fluids are ideal. List the four characteristics of an ideal fluid:
Part I-
Find the velocity of the fluid in Section 2 of the pipe. The velocity of the fluid in Section 1 of the pipe is 10 meters per second. The radius of Section 1 is 2 cm and the radius of Section 2 is 1 cm. You may not use any information from Part 2 of this problem to solve Part 1. Label the diagram with the information given in the problem.
Part 2-
Using the calculated velocity of Section 2, find the velocity of the fluid in Section 3 of the pipe. The pressure in Section 2 is 1 atm (101,300 Pascals), and the pressure in Section 3, is half the pressure in Section 2. The fluid in the pipes is ethanol, with a density of 789 kg/m^3. Label the diagram with the information given in the problem.
