a. Given the parts below, find minimum diameter for the holes (each hole has same value) that ensures the 2 parts will fit together (clearance = 0.0000). Hint: Several “worst” conditions must be met. First, the each hole must be bigger than each pin. Second, figure out conditions when the 2 red dimensions will fit. Also figure out the conditions when the 2 blue dimensions will fit.
b. For each of these “worse” conditions, what do you notice about the hole size and pin size? i.e., do the holes tend to be big or small under worst case conditions? What about the pins?
