Question - Insomnia and pain. A recent study looked at the relationship between insomnia and pain among parents and adolescents.6 A total of 259 adolescents (69 with current insomnia) and their parents (256 middle-aged adults, 78 with insomnia) were recruited for the study. For each participant, the perceived level of overall pain was determined using an average score measured on 7 pain-related items extracted from the Somatic Symptom Inventory (SSI-28). The following table summarizes the results.

(a) For each age category, state the null and alternative hypotheses for comparing the two groups.
(b) For each age category, perform the significance test at the α = 0.05 level, making sure to report the test statistic, degrees of freedom, and P-value.
(c) Write a one-paragraph summary of your conclusions.
