Flipping flyer factory-case study

Scenario: Jane is facing serious financial problems and in order to alleviate same she has secured full time employment at the Flipping -Flyer Factory of Frederick.

Jane is an experienced and dedicated factory worker. She started work the following day she was offered employment but she is only 15 years old. Furthermore, Jane didn’t reveal her age to Frederick as the question didn’t arise however she clearly stated her date of birth on her application form.

While filing the application form of Jane the Human Resource Manager of the Factory noted that Jane was only 15 years old. The Human Resource Manager informed Frederick of same immediately and he told Frederick that the employment contract of Jane might not be valid.
Frederick was very annoyed with the whole matter. He told his Human Resource Manager to terminate the employment of Jane and not to pay her for the work she has already done.

Advise the Human Resource Manager;

Question1. What is a valid contract before a Court of law and whether there is valid contract between Jane and Flipping Flyer Factory?

Question2. Can Frederick refuse to pay Jane for the work she has already carried out at the Factory?
