1. Find the mass (e.g. in grams) and number of food calories to in your favourite candy bar, either on-line or by going to a store. We saw in class (see slides) how to convert food calories, a gauge of energy, to Joules, using the facts that there are 0.239 calories per Joule and 1000 calories per food calorie. Express the energy stored in the candy bar in
Mega Joules. (1 MJ = 106 J).
(Hint: Your answer must be more than 0.1 MJ.) Show your work.
2. For the same candy bar as in #1, compute the energy density of the candy bar in MJ / kg. Is it higher or lower than the energy density of gasoline?
