The toy company produces and sells two kinds of stuffed bears teddy and pooh bears. Manager is trying to schedule production for next month. Demand for both bears is strong and she is sure that all toys will be sold.
Covers for both bears are made by same cutting machine, that has the capacity of 4 bears per minute. Teddy bears are more plush than pooh bears and take longer to stuff. Stuffing line can complete three teddy bears per minute or it can handle five pooh bears per minute. Pooh bears are musical bears. Music boxes can be inserted at given rate of 3 per min.
Net profit is $15 per Teddy bear and $20 per Pooh bear.
i) Define objective function.
ii) Define constraint functions.
Cutting constraint:
Stuffing constraint
Music box constraint:
iii) Graph constraints and find feasible area.
iv) Estimate suitable production points and find production schedule which will maximize company's profit.
