My name is Travis Joyner and I have successfully completed a bachelor's degree in business administration March 2, 2014, since I became affiliated with APUS January 2011. I am currently pursuing a master's degree with a major in management and a concentration in Human Resource. I don't have any other names to be called by, so Travis is just fine. Well, I believe that if a person has a goal to complete, you have to be prepared to make certain sacrifices within your daily life for your accomplishments to become reality.
I am currently employed with the US Army for almost 18 years next month and ready to retire in order to have some sort of control of my life and spend more time with the family. My present employment with the military is supply logistics, which led me to choose the management field. I believe that two of my personal strengths that will guide me in life happen to be my work ethic and experience.
I really have a strong feeling that these two characteristics would be more than enough to put me into a very good work position for the future. I actually think that I can find the right employment for myself anywhere that I choose. I would like to secure a position as an instructor with an established online university. I am originally from Memphis Tn., the home of Beale Street, Elvis Presley and good barbecue.
I am married with three children ages 5 year, 15 and 16. One of my hobbies that I normally practice is trying to perfect my art of developing writing short stories and poems. I have recently published two books of poetry, which have inspired a light and me to do all I can that is positive for others to view. I am currently stationed at Camp Humphreys, Korea and hopefully spend my last two years, which would allow me to see retirement and become an expatriate.
I think the online opportunity to participate in education is very convenient for working people to sit in the comfort of their home to complete college courses. I don't know much about this course, but I am eager to find out as much as I possibly can about Human Resource Policy and how important it actually is according to leadership. While this semester progresses I just hope to gain more knowledge of this course in order to be able to have an intelligent conversation while conversing with others pertaining to the topic.
I am enjoying my time associated with this college and I hope that I will become very marketable once I retire while searching for excellent employment. Good meeting everyone and I hope you all have much success with your goals. Take care.
