Problem: During the first few weeks of class, I found the information on self-leadership particularly impactful. Effective leadership starts with a well-honed sense of self, encompassing our strengths and internal motivations. Learning about conflict resolution was also beneficial, as was analyzing my current place of employment's mission and value statements to ensure they align with the five core nursing values. The concepts covered in this course will be instrumental in my practice as a master's prepared nurse. To be a self-leader, I will continuously seek opportunities to evaluate my own abilities and enhance my emotional intelligence, both of which will aid in my practice as a nurse practitioner. Utilizing empathy, I will improve patient care and outcomes. While we strive to avoid conflicts, conflict resolution skills are essential for prioritizing patient advocacy when necessary. In week 5, we discussed a complex scenario with ethical and legal implications. This hypothetical scenario gave me the ability to think through how I would handle it as a nurse practitioner. The core concepts from this course, along with the learning activities and assignments, will help me achieve positive health outcomes for my patients and the broader community.
