Roger has two separate 2-acre fields. They are both better suited to growing corn than wheat. Each field can produce 40 bushels of corn or 20 bushels of wheat.
Suppose that for each field, Roger considers planting the entire field in either corn or wheat. As a result, he can plant wheat in two fields, wheat in one field and corn in the other, or corn in two fields.
