Write a film review on “The Bridge on the River Kwai.” This emphasis on this paper is not so much about the review of the film, but how men and their masculinities are displayed in this film.
Choose a film (documentary or feature film) that addresses explicitly the theme of men and masculinity outside North America. Your 500-word review should contain a brief description of the film’s content but consist mostly of your ORIGINAL analysis and integration of relevant course material. Your analysis should address such issues as the centrality of violence in the socialization of boys and men across cultures and contexts, gender differences in divisions of power and labor and differences between dominant and alternative constructions of masculinity..
Pay particular attention to the matrix of power, privilege, and structured inequalities and to the relationship between representations of dominant masculinities and representation of race, class, sexuality and culture.
