Few years ago, there was a raging debate on “privatizing” social security benefits, which in most cases is used to pay for healthcare services and insurance premiums. The idea was that if people took the amount and invested in the stock market and other financial vehicles, it would be much more when they need it later in live. Based on the time value of money, do you think this is an innovative idea? Why or why not? Do you think this should be extended also to Medicare, in other words people be allowed to invest their tax dollars for future healthcare coverage needs? Why is this a clever idea or a terrible idea?
