Assessment Task: Making Changes
Details of task:
Review the below material and watch the video clip of the interview (Case 1) presented via the Blackboard interface, with the purpose of answering the following questions as a clinical report.
- What is the main change goal? Whose goal is it?
- Using the transtheoretical model, what stage of change is the offender in and why do you think this?
- Identify the factors that either undermined his change process or were absent (i.e. protective factors) the first few attempts he made to restrict his alcohol use. Discuss why you think these factors were relevant.
- Identify the factors (those present and absent) that supported and maintained the offenders change process and discuss why these are relevant.
- Considering each of his change attempts what role did the working alliance (bond, goals, tasks) have in the success and/or failure of his change attempts?
