faint young sun paradoxtheories of stellar

faint, young sun paradox

Theories of stellar evolution denote that as stars mature over the main sequence, they steadily grow hotter & brighter; calculations recommend that at around the time of the creation of Earth, the Sun was roughly two-thirds the brightness that it is currently. But, there is no geological evidence over Earth (or on Mars) for the Sun being fainter in the past. Currently there is no apparent resolution for this paradox.
