Problem:
Examining the seven ethical steps, first the nurse has to be able to identify ethics issues, which in this case is medication errors. The second step involves collecting information that is pertinent which leads to a medication error. The third step includes nurses being able to identify their values and feelings related to the medication error, check if there is any personal biases in the error; in addition to any systemic problems such as inadequate training of administering medications. The fourth step is verbally communicating the error, being able to express and acknowledge the medication error, reporting it to the physician, and family members.
