Description: Sustainable Practices in Hotels
Purpose: Hotels are very large consumers of resources, whether it be utilities, water, paper, food, cleaning products, furniture, flooring, or consumable guest supplies.
Given their consumption levels, great pressure is on hotels, and the tourism industry, as a whole, to be more sustainable in their practices to reduce their environmental impact and carbon footprint.
This project is designed to give you an opportunity to explore various efforts that are either in practice, or should be practiced, to make hotels operations more environmentally sustainable.
Each team has been assigned a particular area or item to investigate. How you approach the material in your assignment is totally up to you, as long as it is presented as a voice-over PowerPoint presentation lasting 8-12 minutes.
