Explore the importance of chinese cultural heritage

Assignment task:

According to appropriation film theory, If I place the movie Dracula (Stoker, 1897) in the context of China, and will explore the issue of cultural heritage protection and cultural identity in China. What significant changes can I make in the movie plot? Could u give me some constructive advices? I also upload a file here.

Feedback from professor below:

My personal idea is that Dracula is in China. As a representative Western figure, I want to explore the importance of Chinese cultural heritage and Cultural identity when Western culture enters China. Do you think that is a good start?

I think that's an excellent idea! It's a perfect starting point to transform Dracula into something new, and you're obviously well positioned to think about the differences between Chinese and western cultures, and how the story might change based on that new setting. The assignment instructions are very specific in how you should divide your assignment up and how to present your adaptation pitch. It's not my expectation that you'll rewrite the novel, but rather that you'll describe the kind of film you would make.
