Assignment:
This lab is based on the exploration of Arizona State University's Virtual Field Trips. The Field Trip you will be using is the Biological Archeology Lab, and you will find the link to the lab below. I encourage you to check out some of the other Virtual Field Trips. They are pretty interesting!
First you will need to familiarize yourself with the different parts of the virtual lab. The first step is to click on the Tutorial button and follow the directions. Once you have completed the tutorial, go to the various parts of the lab and watch the videos and interactive components by clicking on the "Start Trip" button. Pay special attention to these areas:
- Bipedalism
- Pliocene hominids
- Homo erectus
- Neanderthals
Once you have moved through the tutorials, go to the left hand side of the page. There you will see a list of labs. For this assignment, you will choose three of the following labs (your choice of which three):
1. Earliest Hominins
2. Early Homo anatomy
3. Later Homo anatomy
4. Bioarchaeology
5. Paleopathology
If you have trouble accessing this lab, try clearing your cache or using a different browser. Google Chrome seems to work best for this website.
Once you have completed the labs, you need to take a screen shot of the results for each lab. If you are unable to take a screen shot, you can take a picture with your mobile phone or tablet.
