Assignment task:
Need a response explaining to the patient what type of memory loss they are experiencing, what may be causing, it, and what the prognosis and the information should be supported with information from peer-reviewed academic journals. At least one citation is required in each reply post if Evan Hansen is a twenty-six-year-old patient experiencing peculiar neurological symptoms for a man of his age and physical health. He has had symptoms of forgetting names and faces, trouble concentrating, losing train of thought, confusion, difficulty remembering recent events, feeling mentally fatigued, and overall sluggish thinking, often accompanied by a feeling of constantly "zoning out". He has started to experience things such as forgetting important or current information and memory loss. Evan told of a time when he went to eat lunch at his workplace and, 20 minutes later, ate a second lunch, apparently having forgotten the first meal. He has done this multiple times in the last year sometimes eating two to three lunches in a day. He says he has started experiencing many of the symptoms after the events of COVID-19, after contracting the COVID-19 illness. He has also started to experience periods of forgetfulness, confusion, slow thinking, and impaired concentration. We believe that when he contracted the COVID-19 virus there was a powerful reaction by the immune system that produced so many inflammatory cytokines that it might have damaged the blood-brain barrier (Negri-Schwartz et al, 2024). After some scans, it was discovered that Evan had experienced a shrinkage of gray matter in parts of the cerebral cortex and decreased levels of myelin. Need Assignment Help?
