Explain ZOE-Cements - materials for Root End Filling
a. Two most widely accepted are: IRM and Super EBA (S-EBA)
b. Both exhibit similar and favorable
c. Clinically and histopathologically are better than amalgam
d. Properties they have are:
- 2, 3, 5, 6, 10, 12, 14, and 15 "of the Requirements of REF materials written above"
- Adequate working time,
- Lack of corrosion or oxidation
- Not discolor tooth or surrounding tissues
- Predictable over time.
e. Setting time of S-EBA can be unpredictable, and the poder/water ratio has to be correct to ensure a thick, dough-like consistency.
