Problem: Over the past 40 years, several theories have been formulated to explain women's role in development. These include the WID, WAD, and GAD perspectives. Compare and contrast these three theories, with particular attention to the following points:
- the historical context in which the theory emerged, the intellectual origins of the theory, and the underlying assumptions of the theory;
- at least two (2) strengths and two (2) weaknesses of the theory
- the social, economic, and political policy implications of the theory (at least 2, either social, economic or political)
