Problem
Introduction: Interprofessional collaboration is a proven, effective tool in caring for the patient, improving outcomes, and increasing patient satisfaction. However, there can be barriers to accomplishing effective interprofessional collaboration.
Purpose: In the article, Common Barriers to Interprofessional Healthcare Team Work, a variety of barriers to effectively carrying out interprofessional collaboration are identified. By examining these barriers prior to entering the nursing field, you will be able to hypothesize how you will interact in the workplace to overcome these barriers and promote interprofessional collaboration. After completing the discussion board forum, you will be able to identify ways you can effectively collaborate with your peers from a variety of disciplines, and proactively describe how you will behave to avoid the barriers that can affect interprofessional collaboration.
