Purpose: The purpose of this assignment is to interpret and apply knowledge of sociocultural, sociopolitical, and psychological variables to facilitate ELLs literacy development in English Domain.

• Case Scenario: Appropriation and Resistance in the (English) Literacy Practices of Puerto Rican Farmers.(PDF) by Catherine Mazak (p. 25) from the book Cultural Practices of Literacy.
After reading the case scenario above,
1. Describe and interpret which sociocultural variables are evident in the scenario.
2. Analyze and explain which sociopolitical variables are evident in the scenario.
3. Describe and interpret which psychological variables are evident in the scenario to facilitate ELLs literacy development in the English domain.
4. Then, develop a table explaining each of the variables and how you would apply this knowledge to assist that particular ELL with the development of literacy in the English language.
