Problem
I. If you wanted to appeal your grade in a course you are taking this semester, you'd find yourself in conflict with the instructor. Explain which conflict communication style you would adopt when trying to resolve this conflict and why you think that style would be the best one to take in this situation.
II. Identify a group you are usually a part of (club, church group, informal friend group, work group, etc.) and describe the informal, functional group roles you play within that group to help it function smoothly. Include at least one task and one social/maintenance role.
III. You want to design a message to persuade your family or friends to make a donation to your favorite charity. Identify the charity and explain how you'd use Aristotle's appeals of ethos, pathos and logos to create that message.
IV. Some of your family members or friends might not want to make a donation to your cause, and some might even be hostile to it. Explain two ways you would try to adapt your message to that predicted response.
V. We have discussed a lot of different communication issues and techniques this semester. Identify one thing you have learned related to your interpersonal communication and one thing you have learned related to public speaking that you have found useful, and explain how you see yourself using these ideas in your future.
