Do a Reflection Précis of The Democratic Promise: Saul Alinsky and His Legacy. In four parts.
I. Part I: Summary: Highlight the main points of the video. Limit the number to 3 or 4. What were the most important points covered?
II. Part II: Think critically about and discuss your response(s) to the key takeaways you identified in Part I. Provide thoughtful, insightful narratives that convey your response(s) to the video's content. Assume a specific posture about what you gleaned from the documentary, i.e., do you agree or disagree with specific ideas presented? Defend your position. Since this is the reflective part of the précis, you are allowed to use the first personal pronoun, "I" in Part II.
III. Part III: Explain what you considered the most meaningful information you learned from the video. Once you discuss this aspect of Part III, you may interject comparative, relative, or parallel information from our Guest Discussant, the Scholar Presentations and the books by Ledwith and Freire.
IV. Part IV: Closing: Write a closing paragraph that succinctly pulls the entire précis together. As the finale to this paragraph, pose and answer a couple of self-questions. Discuss how you were impacted by the video. What shifts in ideas, opinions or positions you may have experienced as a result of the video.
