Discussion Post: Human Tendency to Add Additional Elements Rather Than Removing
A recent article in Nature has identified an interesting behavioral effect, namely that we tend to add additional elements rather than reduce existing ones when trying to improve a system.
Think about how this general effect could materialize in a management-related context. You can choose a particular context that you find interesting (e.g., marketing, accounting, strategy, production management etc.). Formulate a research question and outline the design of an experimental study to examine whether (and how) this effect indeed materializes in such a setting. Explain what the experiment would allow you to find out and conclude. Also comment on the limitations that your design would involve.
The response must include a reference list. Using Times New Roman 12 pnt font, double-space, one-inch margins, and APA style of writing and citations.
