Get a small notebook or use your phone to jot down the memory that you experience each of the five days and the time of day for your reflection. Once you have at least five days' worth of memories, use the prompts below to document your reflections and assessment.
A. Describe each memory in a thoughtful response.
B. Decide if you are encoding, storing, or retrieving information.
a. If encoding . . . did you use automatic processing or effortful processing? was it semantic, visual, or acoustic?
b. If storing . . . was it sensory, short-term, or long-term memory? if long long-term, was it explicit or implicit? if explicit, was it episodic or semantic? if implicit, was it procedural or emotional conditioning?
c. If retrieving . . . was it recall, recognition, or relearning?
C. Explain what parts of your brain were used in each memory.
