Assignment task: Voting and Attitude Behavior Consistency
The book states that attitudes often do not predict behaviors. One notable exception to this pattern is that people's attitudes about who they are going to vote for predict very closely who they actually vote for (Schuman & Johnson, 1976). What are some of the possible reasons for the strong relationship between attitudes and behaviors in this instance? What types of attitudes are most likely to predict behavior and under what circumstances.
