Explain the pricing spill-over effect.

Suppose a firm operating in a segmented capital market (such as China, for example) decides to cross-list its stock in New York or London. Upon cross-border listing, the firm’s stock will be priced internationally. Additionally, the pricing of remaining purely domestic stocks (other Chinese stocks) will be influenced in such a way that these stocks will be priced partially internationally and partially domestically. The degree of international pricing relies on the correlations between these purely domestic stocks and internationally traded stocks.
