Problem: Performing an airworthy repair on a composite product is essential to safe operation during flight. The administered repair should revert the strength margins and reliability to design values. However, carbon composites have approximately 0.001% of aluminum's electrical conductivity and its resistance to Electromagnetic Effects (EMEs) should be evaluated and restored during the repair process. Explain the possible sources of EMEs, its impact on flight safety, and solutions to mitigate the undesirable effects.
