McLendon and Hearn (2011), in the PDF readings for this unit, pointed out that a flaw in research on public policy is that it often focuses just on the effects of a policy rather than on the "determinants" (p. 11). Thus, they proposed a framework for studying public policy that includes "variables, indicators, and data sources" that can potentially be used to build "models capable of predicting and explaining policy outcomes for higher education" (p. 14). Summarize at least three of the influences presented in their examination. Which of these do you see as most relevant to the public policy issue that is selected in the DOC. file attached below?
