Explain the cycle of addiction and dependency

I have learned a great deal of information from this class! I came into the class thinking that I knew everything there was to know about addictions and substance abuse but I was wrong. I never went so in depth with the different kind of addictions. I also never knew how gripping some of these addictions can be. It was most interesting to go through the course content but it was also saddening at times. For the first time in my life, I started to understand what people with addictions go through. The greatest thing that I took from this class was reading my Bible while going through the class. I, like May, think that the Bible has a lot to say about addictions of today. Even though the Bible was written in the past, it is applicable for today. These concepts impacted my life throughout this course and are things that I developed by taking this course. As I continue through my career, I will be able to know symptoms of addictions, the cycle of addiction and dependency, and ways to help the person. Addiction, I've learned is not just a struggle for a year, but lifetime of hardship. I should not be too quick to write someone off with an addiction. They need help.
