1. In 1974, the U.S. Congress passed the Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention Act (JJDPA), but, since then, the JJDPA has experienced difficulties being reauthorized. Explain the changes to the JJDPA since its first passage, and explain why Congress was unable to reauthorize the JJDPA from 2017-2018.
2. The U.S. Supreme Court rendered three important decisions related to juvenile justice policies. Assess the changes in juvenile justice policy that occurred because of Stanford v. Kentucky (1989), Roper v. Simmons (2005), and Miller v. Alabama (2012).
