Assignment task: Organisation Development is a growing field which essentially provides a systematic and measured process of implementing organisational change. Essentially, organisation development is a process of implementing organisational change with a view of achieving organisational effectiveness over a period of time. Kurt Lewin (1958) believed that if people were active in decisions affecting them, they are more likely to adopt new ways.

In this project, you will be required to develop a plan for organisational change that leads to organisation development as part of the change management plan. For this purpose, you will use the organisational context and the change management plan developed in Assessment Task 2.

The focus in this task will be to develop and implement the Organisational Development Plan within the organisation. Consider the following strategic priorities. For simulation purpose, your trainer/assessor will pay the role of your senior manager. Consult with the manager (trainer/assessor) and confirm the priorities to work with.

Strategic Priority1: Restructure management and realign all the job roles for maximum utilization of available human resources

Strategic Priority2: Enhance internal processes and workflows to reduce waste (of time, material, and resources), duplication of tasks, and manage costs

Strategic Priority 3: Review and upgrade the existing information technology infrastructure to ensure consistent technology platforms, software applications, and maintenance across different departments

Strategic Priority4: Implement a centralized database system to make organisation-wide digital resources, knowledge, and information available to all the staff members

Strategic Priority 5: Review existing staff competencies, identify training and development needs and provide professional development opportunities across the organisation
