Explain Principle of Design of Jig and Fixture
While designing jigs and fixtures following considerations should kept in mind:
- Reduction of idle time.
- Rigidity should be in materials.
- There is always clearance between jig and fixtures.
- Clearance should be swarf.
- Locating and supporting surfaces should be wherever possible be removable.
- Easy loading and unloading.
- Clamping should always be arranged directly above the points supporting the work.
- There are always provisions for the safety of designs.
- Components should be ejected.
- Jig bushes can be replaced whenever it worn out due to flowing out chips.
