Explain POP (Post Office Protocol).
The Post Office Protocol gives remote access to an electronic mail box. The protocol permits a user's mailbox to reside on a computer which runs a mail server, and permits the user to access items in the mailbox from the other computer.
This protocol needs an additional server to run on the computer along with the mailbox. The additional server utilizes the POP protocol. A user runs email software which becomes a client of POP server to access the contents of the mailbox.
